📍 Mission Beach Resort in Merrifield, Minnesota. This cozy family-owned resort has been given a facelift! Following the ice out last year I stopped by this resort to check the ice off the lake. I got to meet Geoff and see one of the most beautiful sunsets. So, I was super excited to be invited back to fly around again. Sunrise is almost as beautiful as sunset. The cabins are being upgraded through out the year as the resort is under new ownership of Geoff, Marie and their adorable son. Each cabin has a unique "up north" feel with my favorite buffalo checker pattern all over giving it that true Minnesota vibe.
The cabins occupancy varies and can sleep between 2-6 people. There are full kitchens and some appliances provided so you just have to bring your food and beverage, personal items, toiletries and a vacation attitude. Cabins 1 and 7 were my favorite. I love the sliding doors. Upper Mission Lake the fishing is fantastic. Lots of northern, walleye and panfish, so we will be back next year to try our hand at some of those eyes!
The 2023 season is from May 12 -October 1st so head to their website to book your pick of cabin in one of the most peaceful spots in Minnesota. Within 20 miles on any side there is a ton of hotspots and attractions if you want to check out the area but stay out of the city. BIR, Golf courses galore, biking trails, and great places to eat and drink. This resort is cozy and off the beaten path and the drive up is just gorgeous. Make sure you check them out when you’re in the lakes area!
